AGING VIETNAM VETERANS

Over the greatest portion of our lives, we have endured the experience of war. Many of us have physical wounds that have eaten at us for more than 40 years. We have gradually acquired diseases over the years from exposure to things about which no one had warned us.  ALL of us have have suffered the mental anguish of experiencing events that most people cannot imagine, much less comprehend.

Have we aged differently from those whom have not had our life experiences?

Most of you know Ellie Covan. Ellie is a professor at UNCW and is conducting a post-graduate course on 'Aging Vietnam Veterans'. This course is about the impact of combat on the aging process. Below is the syllabus for the course with all the particulars. Ellie has graciously offered for any, or all of us, to visit the class as guest speakers or to audit the class.

As of this writing, there are only six students enrolled for this course. So if you get a chance, why not head over to the university on a Tuesday evening and check it out. You'll be glad you did.
